Google through its affiliate, Pearl Computing Malaysia Sdn Bhd had on May 2nd signed a contract to purchase 389 acres of land in Port Dickson from GAMUDA DC Infrastructure Sdn Bhd for RM455.23 million (US108 million). The contract also further includes external infrastructure works worth an additional RM1 billion (US$ 237 million). Khazna Data Centers, a provider of hyperscale wholesale data centers in the Middle East, has announced plans to expand its footprint in Turkey (Türkiye). It is planning to build an AI-ready data center with a potential capacity of up to 100MW. For this, it has secured a site in Başkent, OIZ, Ankara. SoftBank has begun construction on its Artificial Intelligence (AI) ready data center in Hokkaido, Japan. The facility is being built with a total investment of ¥ 65 billion (~US$ 456 million), and its first phase with a capacity of 50MW is scheduled for completion in 2026.
